Your opinion please regarding NRHA sanctioned reining classes, Scottsdale 2007
The ARHA board has discussed quite extensively whether to continue having the Scottsdale regular reining classes NRHA sanctioned.
As a reminder, the purebred reining classes, open and AAOTR, each had $2000 ARHA prize money and a Lawson bronze with $100 entry fees: Half-Arab class $1000 prize money and Morrison? Trophy, entry fee $50.
The number of contestants riding for the NRHA money and trophies has diminished each year to where it is economically not the thing to continue.
The classes could be changed, with less prize monies and the lesser trophies: $1000 prize money and Morrison trophy or $500 prize money and the Pewter trophy.
The ARHA board needs your feed back on this. If you show reining at Scottsdale, do you want the class to be NRHA sanctioned? Should we support it?
Please respond to a board member or to myself: phone 1-800-328-9923, fax 763-786-6543, email h.hamilton@microcontrol.com.

A decision has to be made and given to the Scottsdale Show by May 1, 2006.
- NRHA has the futurity show ranked as 21st in prize money!
- ARHA has an affiliate advertising page in The Reiner, the NRHA publication. The cost is $385 for a business card size, for 10 issues. Contact board member Deb Witty for more information. Phone and fax (same number) 509-968-4259.
- ARHA does not receive any money from the futurity fund. Nor do any of the board members or officers receive any remuneration. All time is donated. Phyllis LaMalfa spends a tremendous amount of time working on futurity matters and coordinating the same with the Scottsdale Club. Phyllis recently attended the NRHA show secretary and show manager school in Oklahoma City.
